Wandering: en route

I am a liberated woman.  The kid has been dropped off at her grandparent’s house for the weekend.  I’m sitting on a bus (not Greyhound but the smallish, whitish variety most frequently found shuttling between nursing homes—don’t ask, it was cheap) bound for New York City.  I don’t have to climb back up the rabbit hole to real life for three days.  {Sigh}

Since my dear friend Anna had the good sense to invite her closest friends and family to Manhattan this weekend for a wedding soiree, I’m forgoing today’s Wandering since I’m currently in the process of, um, wandering.  Instead, I’ll take a quick trip down memory lane to my own wedding seven years ago.  (That sounds way long ago when I type it.  Maybe I got my dates wrong.  Feels like seven months ago.  So let’s go with that.  My wedding pic from seven months-ish ago.)

Awwww.   Ain’t we sweet?

Now here we are right now, this minute,  in 2010:

Strike that.  Self-portraits on nursing home shuttles aren’t exactly easy.  Let’s try that again:

Now that’ s more like it.

Check back for next week’s Wandering post to see a documentary of this weekend’s upcoming wedding—a much-anticipated event in my lifetime—between Anna and her lucky beau, Brandon.

    We miss you. You two behave yourselves in that big city. Scratch that. Have a blast. Big Friend should treat you to a buggy ride around Central Park.

    And would that be G’ma Jo taking care of your little one. Have a great weekend and hope Little friend does great without Mom and Dad. Cousins will keep her busy.

    I hope you had a fabulous weekend! I’ll never forgot your wedding, nor could I forget the amazing Chocolate cake Anna conjured up for it 🙂 You guys are too funny, and way to young to be on a nursing home shuttle, unless it’s cheap, then I understand!
